Do you take my insurance?
Most likely! We accept a wide range of medical and vision plans. Depending on why you’re being seen, your exam will either be billed through your medical or vision insurance.
Young, healthy, and just need new glasses? Your exam will likely be billed to your vision insurance. Diabetic eye exam, experiencing new floaters, or have cataracts? These are medical conditions and your exam will be billed through your medical insurance.

Will my eyes be dilated?
It depends! Dilation is an important part of checking your eye health. We typically dilate all new patients, as well as those with diabetes or high myopia, every year. Others may need it less often, depending on their risk factors.
We also take widefield retinal screening photos (Optos) on every patient. These images are invaluable for tracking changes year to year – but they aren’t a replacement for dilation when a closer look is needed.
When should I bring my child in for an eye exam?
If your child wears glasses, has a medical condition like diabetes, or you’ve noticed any changes in their vision or behavior, more frequent exams may be needed.
All of our doctors see kids, but Dr. Liepins-Masek (Keene), Dr. Byrd (Ashland and California), and Dr. Masek (Fulton and Keene) particularly enjoy treating kids and are a great option if you’re not sure which doctor to see.

Driving Directions
If you’re coming from the north, head south via US Hwy 63 S. After you pass Carquest Auto Parts – Ashland Auto and Ag on the left, take the next right onto E Liberty Ln. Continue on E Liberty Ln for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Henry Clay Blvd/Old U.S. 63. In 0.2 miles, turn left onto Redtrail Dr., where you’ll see our office on your left.
If you’re coming from the east, head west on Meadowmere Dr through where it becomes E Rte Y. At the first traffic circle, continue straight onto State Rd Y. You’ll quickly enter a second traffic circle, where you’ll take the second exit to E Broadway; finally, at the third traffic circle, take the first exit to stay on E Broadway. In 0.3 miles, turn left onto Henry Clay Blvd/US Hwy Bus Rte 63. In 0.5 miles, just after you pass Randy’s Auto Repair on your left and Jose Jalapenos Authentic Mexican Restaurant on your right, turn left to stay on Hencry Clay Blvd/Main St. In 0.3 miles, turn left onto Redtail Dr, and we’ll be immediately on your left.
